งานแสดงช้างและกาชาดสุรินทร์ ปี 2553

         งานแสดงช้างสุรินทร์ มีกำหนดจัดขึ้นเป็นประจำทุกปีในวันเสาร์และอาทิตย์สัปดาห์ที่ 3 ของเดือนพฤศจิกายน ( ปีนี้ตรงกับวันเสาร์ที่ 20 และวันอาทิตย์ที่ 21 พฤศจิกายน 2553 ) ณ บริเวณสนามกีฬาศรีณรงค์และสนามแสดงช้าง อ.เมือง จ.สุรินทร์ 

            งานแสดงช้างสุรินทร์เป็นงานประจำปีของชาติ ถือกำเนิดขึ้นในปี 2503  นักท่องเที่ยวสามารถรับชมความประวัติความเป็นมาอันยาวนานและความผูกพันธ์ระหว่างคนกับช้าง ผ่านการแสดงของช้างซึ่งเริ่มตั้งแต่การคล้องช้าง การจับช้างป่ามาฝึกเพื่อใช้งาน ขบวนช้างศึก การแสดงของช้างน่ารักแสนรู้  การชักเย่อคนกับช้าง ช้างแข่งฟุตบอล รวมทั้งการแสดงศิลปะพื้นเมือง ได้แก่ เรือมอันเร กันตรึม เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ยังมีกิจกรรมในงานอีกมากมาย เช่น การประกวดโต๊ะอาหารช้าง พิธีต้อนรับและเลี้ยงอาหารช้างที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในโลก.

         The annual fair is held every third week of November at Si Narong Stadium. Since ancient time, Surin is rich of elephant. Kuai ethic people has turned wild elephant into their vehicles and their talent in elephant controlling has made debut for Thailand. When Elephant round-up was initiated in 1960, it has putted Surin on the world map for tourist from around the world.

            The Round-up features contest of elephants dinning table, elephant welcome float, the world’s biggest dinning event of the elephant, and performance such as elephant capture, tug of war between elephant and men, elephant football match, war elephant, and local performances such as Ruam An-re and Kantrum.
